Rare Find ~ Triassic Cotham Marble
This locally occurring rock is a type of limestone from the late Triassic period, formed 200 million years ago. It was first found in Bristol in 1754 after forming naturally on ancient mud-flats.
This rock is only found in the outcrops in the West of England and South Wales which suggests that the conditions that produced it were unique to the region
